PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector having decreased connection loss in signal light or excitation light between a fiber pair. SOLUTION: The optical connector has: a first plug 12 containing a first optical fiber 11 with the end face polished as inclined; a second plug 22 containing a second optical fiber 21 with the end face polished as inclined; an adaptor 10 as a guide to butt and join the first plug 21 and the second plug 22; a first lens 13 to collimate the light exiting from the first optical fiber 11; and a second lens 23 to collimate the light exiting from the second optical fiber 21, wherein at least one of the optical axis A1 of the first optical fiber 11, the optical axis A2 of the second optical fiber 21, and the straight line connecting the centers C1, C2 of the first and second lenses 13, 23 does not coincide with others.
