PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply apparatus which simplifies the fitting of component devices thereof and facilitates the assembly thereof, and a method for assembling the same. SOLUTION: In the method for assembling the hot water supply and heating apparatus 1, each device is assembled to a substantially parallelopiped back cover with a front side and a bottom side thereof opened at the installation and a bottom plate 5 fixed to the bottom side of the back cover. A water amount regulator 61, a gas switch 54 for hot water supply, a gas switch 35 for heating, and a water amount regulator 61 are assembled to the bottom plate 5. A burner for hot water supply, a burner for heating, a heat exchanger for hot water supply, a heat exchanger for heating, a fan 41 for hot water supply and a fan 42 for heating are assembled to the back cover. Next, the bottom plate 5 with each device assembled thereto is mounted on and fixed to the opened bottom surface side of the back cover with each device assembled thereto, and the front cover is fixed to the opened front surface side of the back cover to assemble the hot water supply and heating apparatus 1.
