PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillow with excellent portability which is easily carried when it is not used, adjusted in height when it is used, and returned to a state equal to that when it is not used, after usage. SOLUTION: The pillow 1 is formed by storing a granular polymer absorbent 3 in a bag body 4 made of water-permeable nonwoven fabric 2, so as to be in a sealed state. When the pillow 1 is immersed in fresh water W, the polymer absorbent 3 absorbs water permeated into the bag body 4 and the whole pillow 1 is gradually expanded, so as to be used in a way being the same as that of a normal pillow. The height of the pillow 1 is adjusted by changing the immersion time in the fresh water W, so as to increase/decrease the water absorption amount of the polymer absorbent 3 and to adjust the degree of expansion. When the pillow 1 expanded by absorbing water is immersed in salt water SW, the polymer absorbent 3 is gradually contracted by losing water, so as to be restored to a light nonbulky original sheet.
