The mono-N-pentachlorophenyl derivatives of piperazine, 1,3-propylenediamine, diethylene-triamine* and 3-dimethylaminopropylamine are prepared by reacting the respective amines with hexachlorobenzene. The compounds are preferably utilized (see Division A5) as the corresponding acetates; the hydrochloride of product * is also prepared.ALSO:The anti-microbial treatment of textiles is effected by use of an N-pentachlorophenyl-amine of formula C6 Cl5NR1R2 or C6Cl5N(R3)2NR2, wherein R1 is (-R3R2N-)n -R3N(R2)2, R2 is H, C1-6 alkyl or R1, R3 is C1-6 alkylene and n is 0-4.ALSO:Textiles, especially polyamides, polyurethane or proteins, are dyed in presence of an antimicrobial agent of formula C6Cl5NR1R2 or C6Cl5N(R3)2NR2, wherein R1 is (-R3R2N-)n-R3N(R2)2, R2 is H, C1-6 alkyl or R1, R3 is C1-6 alkylene and n is 0-4. In an example, a nylon fabric was dyed in a bath, at 40-90 DEG C for 15 mins. and at 90 DEG C for 15 mins., which contained a dispersion dyestuff, N-pentachlorophenylpiperazine acetate, sodium tetrapropylenebenzenesulphonate and C12-C14 fatty alcohol to which had been added 7 moles ethylene oxide.
|
