<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to vary valve open characteristics and to switch valve open and close drive to a drive state and to a pause state in a valve system driving an intake valve and an exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The valve system is constructed to transmit rock of a rocking cam 36 to a rocker arm by a transmitting mechanism and to open and close the valves. The rocking cam 36 is provided with a variable mechanism of valve open characteristics. The transmitting mechanism includes a lifter body 200 moving with a push rod 34 as one body and an L-lifter 300 pushed by the rocking cam 36. When the valve is driven, the lifter body 200 and the L-lifter 300 are connected by a pin. When the connection is released, just the L-lifter 300 reciprocates and the lifter body 200 is retained at a position where the same abuts on a washer 400. The washer 400 stabilizes connection of the lifter body 200 and the L-lifter 300 by such an action. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
