PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium material excellent in oxidation resistance, its production method and an exhaust pipe. SOLUTION: (1) The titanium material has an Al-containing layer formed on a substrate comprising pure Ti or a Ti alloy, wherein the Al-containing layer contains≥90 mass% Al or Al and Si in total and has a thickness of≥1μm. (2) The titanium material has an Al-containing layer formed on a substrate comprising pure Ti or a Ti alloy via an Al-Ti intermetallic compound layer, wherein the Al-containing layer contains≥90 mass% Al or Al and Si in total and has a thickness of≥1μm. (3) The titanium material is one described in (1) wherein the substrate contains 0.5-10 mass% Al. (4) The titanium material is one described in (1) wherein a surface layer of the substrate which contacts the Al-containing layer contains 20-50 at% nitrogen. (5) The exhaust pipe for a two-or four-wheeled vehicle is manufactured using the titanium material. (6) In the manufacturing method of the titanium material, the Al-containing layer is formed by hot-dipping method and blast treatment is subsequently performed using a hard particle.
