PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive voice transmitting device for an air conditioner capable of collecting the voice generated in a room by utilizing a transmission line connecting an indoor machine and an outdoor machine, and transmitting the voice to a person outside of the room by means of a speaker of the outdoor machine. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner comprising the indoor machine 2 and the outdoor machine 1 connected with the indoor machine 2 by the transmission line 5, the indoor machine 2 is provided with a voice collecting means for collecting the voice in the room where the indoor machine 2 is installed, the indoor machine 2 or the outdoor machine 1 is provided with a voice output circuit 7 for outputting a collected voice signal, and the outdoor machine 1 is provided with a megaphone means 8 for transmitting the voice signal to the outdoor machine 1 by the transmission line 5, and outputting the collected voice.
