PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus capable of appropriately detecting and interrupting both generation of large current due to a short circuit and generation of the large current due to a defect of detecting circuit. SOLUTION: If the short circuit occurs in an output destination of a DC/DC circuit 103, a one-chip microcomputer 102 detects it by a signal from an overcurrent detecting part by arranging a resettable fuse 104 at an input side of the DC/DC circuit 103 and the overcurrent detecting part 105 at an output side, and the generation of the large current due to the defect of inner circuit including the overcurrent detecting part 105 is detected/interrupted by the resettable fuse 104. The resettable fuse 104 having the property of automatically releasing the interruption after occurrence of the interruption is applied as a protection device, therefore there is no necessity to operate the replacement, and only minimum of tolerance is provided, then increase of mounting space is prevented.
