PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolayer carbon nanotube with a light-emitting function which has an absorption peak in the range of 1,100-1,500 nm and is soluble in an organic solvent. SOLUTION: The monolayer carbon nanotube with a light-emitting function comprises a complex of a monolayer carbon nanotube and a light-emitting compound, wherein the complex has an absorption peak in the range of 1,100-1,500 nm; the light-emitting compound has a hydrocarbon group; and the complex is soluble in chloroform.
