PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing fluorinated phenylenediamine having less light absorption in visible region and suitable for an optical material. SOLUTION: This method for producing the fluorinated phenylenediamine comprises a process of performing the reaction of a diamide expressed in the formula with NaOCl having 2.0-6.0 molar ratio based on the diamide and NaOH having 1.8-6.0 molar ratio based on the diamide.
