The shock absorber bearing for a spring strut of a motor vehicle has a cylindrical housing (12) which on an end face facing the spring strut in the installed position has a locating opening (14) and on the opposite end face a cover (13). The cover is connected in one piece to the housing , and the locating opening is closed off by a locking plate which by radial twisting is positively lockable in a locking device (31,32) in the housing. The locking device is formed by vertically extending slots (32a) on the inner wall of the housing and which merge into horizontally extending slots (32b).
