A headrest (30) is pivotably connected (32) to an upper end of the back (6) so that it can folded down between projecting wing portions (26) of the back with a distal end (74) of the headrest (30) closely adjacent to a distal end (72) of the base (4). An inner part (40) of the back (6) is forwardly pivotable to facilitate engagement of a seat restraining belt (52) with retention means (44, 46). An outer surface of the seat, when collapsed, comprises a seating surface (76) enabling the seat to double as a so-called "booster" seat for an older child.</p>
