<p>The method involves first and second computer channels (3,4) mutually independently evaluating safety system (1) data and deriving signals, a comparator (5) comparing the signals of the computer channels and operating the safety-technical system depending on the comparison result. If the comparator detects a deviation between the signals of the channels, it sends a predefined request (6) to the channels, compares their responses (7) with an expected result and operates the system with the channel producing the expected result.
