<p>Yarn is wound onto sliver cans retained by depressions in a circular horizontal plate. The plate is lowered relative to the cans by a vertically displaceable crown support, acting on the depression plate a secondary circular plate carrying the weight of the cans through the primary plate depressions. The full cans are removed from contact with the cover housing allowing freedom of movement of the cans for detachment from the winding area. Fresh cans are readily slid along the highly polished surface of the plate to be held in position in the depressions for further winding operations.</p> |
