A drive mechanism (10) swivels a bar (5) with a spherical end on bearings fixed on a vehicle by intermediate switching of a planetary gear system (11) from a locked inactive position into a locked operating position and vice versa. On its free end away from the bar's bearing head (6), the bar supports a coupling ball (4) and is allocated a locking pin (23) to fasten and release a locking device.
