<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seabed excavator, which is capable of excavating a hard seabed surface, and excavates a seabed surface efficiently regardless of the seabed surface's being soft or hard. <P>SOLUTION: The seabed excavator is used to form a groove, in which an undersea pipe or cable is buried, on a seabed surface gradually in a prescribed direction. The excavator comprises nozzles, which are arranged in a travel direction of the excavator and jet high-pressure waterflows for seabed excavation toward the seabed side, or toward the middle between the opposite side to the travel direction of the excavator and the seabed side, a support, which consists of a plate that is arranged in parallel with the travel direction of an excavator body and is provided with a plurality of the nozzles at the lower end of the plate, and a rotary excavating part, which is arranged to be closer to the seabed than the nozzles at the lower end of the support and has a plurality of blades that rotate in perpendicular or diagonal to the travel direction of the excavator when the high-pressure waterflows are jet out from the nozzles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
