Stereoscopic displaysystem with one single display

The system has a single display (7) on which right and left partial images can be displayed in time sequence, 2 separate partial beam paths (21,22) for observation of only left and only right partial images and a changeover device (5,9) that alternately couples information shown on the display from the common part of the observation beam path into one of the two partial beam paths in synchronism with the display of right and left partial images.
