The method involves providing a manufactured seed (22) having an open end. The seed includes a seed coat (24), a synthetic gametophyte (26) and a cotyledon restraint (28). The open end of the seed is immersed in a sealing material e.g. wax, for a preset period ranging between 0.1 seconds and 50 seconds. The sealing material is permitted to harden over the opened end of the seed to form a plug that seals the opened end. An independent claim is also included for an end seal for a manufactured seed. |
