In a gramophone for a toy doll in which a turntable 47 having a multitrack record portion 29 is driven by a spring motor 76, 77 at a speed determined by governor 73 and in which the motor is wound by a draw string 53 which when pulled also lifts and returns tone arm 17 to the outer edge of the record, cam means 100 are provided to stop the outward movement of the tone arm and thus randomly select the next track to be played. The cam means has a number of tone arm engaging cam faces V-Z all spaced a different distance from the walls of cam bearing hole 102 which is larger than the pin 104 on which it is mounted to allow a circular portion 106 of the cam means to move by gravity into contact with and be driven by the turntable to randomly select the next track to be played.</p> |
