<p>A method and apparatus for dispensing brazing flux 48 for use in securing an insert 18 in a saw blade blank 10, in which flux is supplied to a groove 34 in a grooved member 22, and the flux is dispensed to another item by presenting the other item to the groove, whereby flux clings to the item by capillary action after removal of the item from the groove. The item may be either the saw blade blank or an intermediate member. The groove is preferably concave shaped so as to cause the flux to cling within the groove by capillary action. The groove may be provided around a rotating wheel. The wheel may rotate about a horizontal axis, the other item moving transversely to the wheel axis as the wheel turns. Also claimed is a method and apparatus for dispensing brazing flux, in which the flux is supplied to an intermediate member carrying spoke members.</p> |
