Exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust gas turbine in the exhaust gas branch, a compressor (3) in the intake tract, and a supplementary air feed device. The compressor has a compressor impeller (21) in an inlet channel (23) in the compressor housing (22). The supplementary air feed device has a supplementary air channel (25) in the compressor housing for feeding supplementary air via an injection opening (27) in the wall of the inlet channel into the flow region (28) of the compressor impeller. Independent claims are also included for an internal combustion engine comprising the above exhaust gas turbocharger, and for a process for operating an internal combustion engine with the above exhaust gas turbocharger. Preferred Features: An annular channel (26) communicating with the supplementary air channel is connected via the injection opening to the inlet channel.
