<p>The invention relates to watertight stitched seams in garments, the material of which is laminated fabric (13) composed for instance of woven fabric layers (4a, 4b) with waterproof polymer film (5) arranged therebetween. The edges of the laminated fabric are mutually attached by a stitch (2a, 2b) having a stitch width (W1) extending across the edges (9a, 9b) arranged in butt position. The joint is sealed by an adhesive strip (6, 7) composed of woven fabric (8a, 8b) and a layer of glue (3). In the watertight stitched seam (1), the stitch is made by thread (16) containing at least one natural fiber, said thread being substantially undamaged in the contact areas of the glue of said adhesive strip and the thread, while the glue in the adhesive strip represents a type that sticks only at its melting temperature that is substantially higher than room temperature. Said glue penetrates into the woven fabric layer of the laminated fabric/fabrics, into the holes (20) created by the stitch punctures (10) and into between (19) the edges arranged in butt position. <IMAGE></p> |
