PURPOSE: A digital broadcast receiver for supplying context switching between an MHP(Multimedia Home Platform) and negative software and a method of the context switching are provided to easily realize the receiver to which the MHP is applied, by allowing a negative program included in a common digital broadcast receiver to be utilized. CONSTITUTION: A negative module(100) receives a digital broadcast stream signal, demultiplexes image information, speech information and broadcast program information from the digital broadcast stream signal and performs a function for realizing all of the aforementioned information in a device. A multimedia home platform(200) implements an interactive function and a data broadcast function. A context switching module(300) determines whether a requested function corresponds to functions of the negative module and the multimedia home platform or not according to a previously defined promise and thereby transfers an event to the negative module. |
