PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to effectively remove heat generated from the inside of the plasma display panel, by forming a protection film in a discharge region of a second dielectric and a heat suppressing film in a non-discharge region of the second dielectric layer. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(31) and a second substrate(21) spaced apart from each other and arranged substantially in parallel with each other; a plurality of address electrodes(33) formed on the first electrode; a first dielectric layer(35) formed on the first substrate such that the first dielectric layer covers the address electrodes; a plurality of barrier ribs(37) formed into predetermined heights on the first dielectric layer such that the barrier ribs form a discharge region; a phosphor layer(39) formed in the discharge space; a plurality of discharge sustain electrodes formed on a surface of the second substrate opposed to the first substrate, perpendicularly to the address electrodes; a second dielectric layer(27) formed on the second substrate such that the second dielectric layer covers the discharge sustain electrodes; a protection film(30) containing MgO, wherein the protection film is formed in a discharge region of the second dielectric layer; and a heat suppressing film formed in a non-discharge region of the second dielectric layer.
