PURPOSE: A system for retrieving a traffic accident witness by using a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to store accident-related information in an accident recording DB(DataBase) of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) by using a mobile communication terminal of a traffic accident witness, and to retrieve the DB when searching for the information, thereby easily finding the traffic accident witness. CONSTITUTION: A witness mobile communication terminal(110) inputs witnessed information by a witness when a traffic accident occurs. An information requester terminal(170) retrieves accident-related information by an information requester. An accident recording DB(150) stores the accident-related information. A witness server(140) stores the witnessed information as well as additional information, and retrieves stored records to supply the retrieved records. An MSC(130) performs a control function and an interworking function, and supplies the additional information to the witness server(140). An HLR(Home Location Register)(132) has MIN(Mobile Serial Number) and ESN(Electronic Serial Number) information. A VLR(Visitor Location Register)(134) temporarily stores subscriber information. Wireless BSs(Base Stations)(120,160) transmit position information on the terminal(170) and a call signal. |
