摘要 PURPOSE: A method of driving a plasma display panel during a sustain period is provided to improve luminance and luminance efficiency by changing only a drive waveform during the sustain period without deforming a structure of a discharge cell and a shape of an electrode. CONSTITUTION: A potential of a second sustain electrode is maintained at a base potential, a potential of a first sustain electrode is boosted to the first potential, and the boosted potential is maintained during the first period. The potential of the second sustain electrode is maintained at the base potential, the potential of the first sustain electrode is boosted to the second potential, and the boosted potential is maintained during the second period. The potential of the second sustain electrode is maintained at the base potential and the potential of the first electrode is lowered to the base potential. The potential of the first sustain electrode and the potential of the second sustain electrode are maintained at the base potential during a predetermined delay period. The potential of the first sustain electrode is maintained at the base potential and the potential of the second sustain electrode is maintained at the first potential. The potential of the first sustain electrode is maintained at the base potential and the potential of the second sustain electrode is maintained at the second potential. The potential of the first sustain electrode is maintained at the base potential and the potential of the second sustain electrode is lowered to the base potential. The potential of the first sustain electrode and the potential of the second sustain electrode are maintained at the base potential during a predetermined delay period.
