PURPOSE: A packet processing device of a wireless LAN access point and a method thereof are provided to analyze received packets to decide whether the packets should be first processed, and to differentiate the packet from other packet to first process the packet, thereby guaranteeing a VoIP QoS. CONSTITUTION: A controller(23) analyzes a received packet to assign a high priority or a low priority to the packet, and temporarily stores the analyzed packet, then processes the stored packet. A packet deciding module(23a) of the controller(23) analyzes a header of the received packet, decides whether the packet should be first processed to guarantee a VoIP QoS, and assigns a priority to the packet. A packet processing module(23b) temporarily stores the packet according to the assigned priority, and processes the packet according to the priority.
