PURPOSE: A sheet-extracting device and a sheet-extracting method are provided to separate sheets adsorbed to each other in taking sheets out of a group of sheets set to a support member, one by one, by injecting air toward the side of the group of sheets and bending the adsorbed sheets. CONSTITUTION: A sheet-extracting device(1) comprises a support member(7) on which a group of sheets layered is put; a lifting and lowering member(25) lifting and lowering the corresponding support member; adsorption members(35) adsorbing a sheet of the uppermost layer of the group of sheet put on the support member; a vertical moving member vertically moving each adsorption member; a horizontal moving member moving each adsorption member to a direction close to each other and a direction distant from each other; an air injection member injecting air toward at least upper sides of the group of sheets put on the support member; and a separation member elastically deforming by coming in contact with edge of the sheet held on the adsorption member. The sheet-extracting device sequentially extracts sheets of the uppermost layer.
