PURPOSE: A memory controller is provided to reduce the current consumption during an auto refresh operation by performing the auto refresh operation only in a selected memory bank according to bank information. CONSTITUTION: A memory controller(130) for controlling the operation of plural memory banks accessible individually, comprises an address generator(131) for generating bank information for selecting at least one of memory bank among plural memory banks; a storing circuit(133) for receiving and storing the bank information; a refresh controller(135) for outputting stored bank information and an auto refresh command in a refresh operation mode.
