PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to mount or separate an air cleaning unit to/from a body and to use the air conditioner for various purposes by installing a refrigeration unit instead of the air cleaning unit. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner is composed of a body(10) having an air conditioning unit and an additional unit mounted detachably to the body. The air conditioning unit and the additional unit are combined to each other operatively. When the additional unit is installed at the body, passages of the air conditioning unit and the additional unit communicate to each other. The additional unit is an air cleaning unit(30). A discharge port(14) of the air cleaning unit communicates with a suction port(13) of the air conditioning unit. The air passing through the air cleaning unit is inserted into the air conditioning unit.
