PURPOSE: Provided is a method for pyrolyzing polymer wastes to increase a reaction rate and to decrease reaction temperature by using carbon dioxide as a carrier gas on the pyrolysis, which is useful in designing an efficient energy process. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: putting polymer waste into a reactor for pyrolysis; injecting a carbon dioxide gas or a carbon dioxide-containing gas into the reactor as a carrier gas to remove residual air; increasing reaction temperature to pyrolyze the polymer waste; and recovering useful materials like gas, oils, chars produced by the pyrolysis. Carbon dioxide is used as a carrier gas and produced by combusting side-product gas obtained on the pyrolysis.
