PURPOSE: A pneumatic tire is provided to cut down the tire manufacturing cost by suppressing parting generated by the lack of rubber at a shoulder portion with minimum rubber and to improve fuel efficiency by lightening the tire. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic tire is composed of a tread, a side wall, a bead unit, a carcass(4) installed over the tread, the side wall, and the bead unit, and a reinforcing rubber sheet(5) arranged on the upper part of the carcass. The reinforcing rubber sheet is split. Each split reinforcing rubber sheet(51,52) is disposed at both shoulder units and separated from each other. The reinforcing rubber sheets are spaced apart from each other at the distance of 20¯100mm. The thickness of the reinforcing rubber sheet is within 0.5¯1.3mm.
