PURPOSE: Provided are a composite particle for an electrode which can construct a conductive network effectively and impart the redox capacity, an electrode containing the composite particle, an electrochemical device using the electrode which is improved in capacity, and their preparation methods. CONSTITUTION: The composite particle(P10) comprises an electrode active material(P1); a conductive aid having electron conductivity(P2); a oxidizing and reducing (redox) agent(P3); and optionally a binder(P4). Preferably the oxidizing and reducing agent comprises one kind of compound selected from an inorganic compound having redox power and an organic polymer compound having redox power. Preferably the electrode active material comprises a carbon material having a BET specific surface area of 500-4,000 m2/g.
