摘要 PURPOSE: A surface acoustic wave device and a communication apparatus are provided to reduce an increase in an insertion loss by arranging a capacitive area for at least one parallel-side acoustic wave resonator at an inductive area. CONSTITUTION: A surface acoustic wave device includes series-side acoustic wave resonators(11a,11b,11c) and parallel-side acoustic wave resonators(12a,12b,12c,12d) arranged in a ladder configuration. A resonant frequency of at least one of the series-side acoustic wave resonators forming a pass band is lower than an anti-resonant frequency of at least one of the parallel-side acoustic wave resonators forming the pass band. A capacitive area is disposed in an inductive area formed by the series-side acoustic wave resonator and the parallel-side acoustic wave resonator. The capacitive belongs to at least one of the series-side acoustic wave resonators that is different from the series-side acoustic wave resonators forming the pass band or to at least one of the parallel-side acoustic wave resonators that is different from the parallel-side acoustic wave resonators forming the pass band.
