SMART CARD FOR TOLL COLLECTION SYSTEM INSTALLED AT TOLL GATE

PURPOSE: A smart card for a toll collection system installed at a toll gate is provided to apply for a high-pass type or a touch-pass type by using one card to a contract type and a non-contact type. CONSTITUTION: A contact point(34) is connected to a port(P0) of a microprocessor(50) and is exposed to a surface of a card body in order to contact with a card interface device through the wire. A wireless data transceiver(57) is connected to another port(P1) of the microprocessor and transceives data with a card reader installed to the toll gate through the wireless. The microprocessor discriminates a communication sort by periodically monitoring communication of the wired/wireless data through detection of each port. If the wired data communication is detected, the microprocessor converts a communication mode into an indirect mode. If the wireless data communication is detected, the microprocessor converts the communication mode into a direct mode.
