PURPOSE: A module-type optical transceiver is provided to dispose a heat-sensitive element in an optimum position with regards to a heating element within a module housing, and to independently test and control a module-type sub assembly before a final assembling process, then to simultaneously fabricate various substrates, thereby reducing a fabrication time. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver module(100) includes two housings having a base portion(104) and a cover(106). A surface plate(132) for fixing one pair of containers(124,126) is included in a front portion of a housing(102). The containers(124,126) are configured to receive optical fiber connector plugs(128,130). The connector plug(130) receives an SC transmitter connector while the connector plug(128) receives an SC receiver connector. An optical multiplexer(114) interfaces with a transmission substrate(108). A laser(116) is fixed by a laser brace(118). The transmission substrate(108) and a receiving substrate(110) are connected to a PCS/PMA substrate(112) by a flexible connector(120) and other connector.
