PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a session transfer function without modifying multimedia applications not having conventional session transfer functions. SOLUTION: In a transfer control local proxy 212 provided at a transfer origin terminal 21, in which a videophone application 211 is installed, session control is relayed between the videophone application 211 and a transfer corresponding videophone application of a communication target terminal 22. In addition, the relayed session control information is stored in a storage device. If a transfer indication is inputted during communication, based on the stored session control information, session establishment for a transfer target terminal 23 is requested to the communication target terminal 22. If session connection completion notification is received from the communication target terminal 22 after session establishment, session disconnection control with the communication target terminal 22 is relayed and communication between the transfer origin terminal 21 and the communication target terminal 22 is switched to that between the communication target terminal 22 and the transfer target terminal 23.
