PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing amino group-containing polymer particles, which is inexpensive without requiring a specific raw material and a monomer containing a reactive functional group as found in a conventional method for producing amino group-containing particles and is highly safe and by which a complicated operation is not needed, the amount of amino group is readily controlled and no functional group having adverse effect on particle physical properties remains. SOLUTION: The method for producing amino group-containing polymer particles comprises reacting crosslinked polymer particles containing a (meth)acrylate polymer represented by general formula (I) with an amine compound containing at least two amino groups in which at least one amino group is a primary amino group in the presence of a metal-containing catalyst for a transesterification reaction.
