<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spread code generating method with which a quadrature spread code of an arbitrary length can be generated. <P>SOLUTION: When the bottom of a natural logarithm is defined as (e) and the length of a spreading code (spreading code length) is defined as N, in an e<SP>j(2nπ/N)</SP>arithmetic part 101, a b-th chip C(a, b) of an a-th spreading code is generated on the basis of C(a, b)=e<SP>j(2nπ/N)</SP>.
