<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system whereby a client terminal can download a proper content corresponding to the type or the like of a content utilization device, from a server. <P>SOLUTION: An ID of the content using device is written to a recording medium 3000 loaded to the content using device 1000. The recording medium 3000 is then loaded to the client terminal 2002 and transmits the ID to the server 2001 through a network 2003. The server 2001 picks up the content corresponding to the ID of the content using device received, and transmits the content to the client terminal 2002. The client terminal 2002 writes the content received to the recording medium 3000.
