<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a settlement system for payment of a purchased commodity which automatically makes settlement of the payment of a purchased commodity with no attendant involved, in a mass merchandising store of a supermarket or the like, for instance. <P>SOLUTION: In a supermarket, this system authenticates whether or not a commodity purchaser is the identical person by a facial image, when his identity is authenticated, automatically makes settlement of the payment of the purchased commodity, records the facial image of the commodity purchaser and the image of the purchased commodity by photographing them, and measures the weight of the purchased commodity to collate the weight with weight recorded on the price tag of the purchased commodity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
