<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collection system and method and its program enabling a user to automatically collect information about things which the user is interested in, e.g., when shopping at a store or the like or going to a museum or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The information collection system 10 comprises a detection means for detecting the identification information of an article selected from a plurality of articles and the identification information of the customer who selected the article; a database 24 for storing the customer information of the customer m and article information about the plurality of articles; and a management device which manages in association the identification information of the selected article detected by the detection means and the identification information of the customer m selecting the article and which collects the article information about the selected article and the customer information from the database 24 while using the identification information of the article and the identification information of the customer m.
