PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel boring machine capable of reducing a load applied to a spherical joint. SOLUTION: This tunnel boring machine has a body frame 2 formed in a cylindrical shape, a partition wall body 3 arranged in the body frame 2 for partitioning the inside into the cutting face side and the pit inside, a rotary cutter 5 arranged on the partition wall body 3, and cutting a cutting face, a support pin 4 for tiltably supporting the partition wall body 3 in the body frame 2, the spherical joint 16 arranged between the partition wall body 3 and the body frame 2, and formed concentrically with the support pin 4, and a tilting actuator 18 having one end pivoted on the partition wall body 3, and having the other end pivoted on the body frame 2.
