PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roaming list update method for a mobile communication terminal by which a mobile communication system with an updated roaming list immediately reflected thereon is acquired and to provide the mobile communication terminal. SOLUTION: In order to update a roaming list stored in an external storage medium, a new roaming list is transmitted to the external storage medium ( step 18c ), it is confirmed whether or not the roaming list is normally written in the external storage medium ( step18d ), the updated roaming list is read while keeping power turned on ( step18e ), and the read roaming list is stored into a control section ( step18f ) for using the list for the acquisition of the mobile communication system to thereby acquire the mobile communication system on which the updated roaming list is immediately reflected.
