PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability of a spark ignition type multicylinder engine and exhaust emission performance during starting. SOLUTION: A fuel injection control device performs injection of fuel in synchronism with a suction stroke during starting. Regarding cylinder where an injection timing of each cylinder after injection during decision of a first cylinder is on and after an expansion stroke of a primary explosion assumed cycle, fuel injection is executed such that injection is divided in two times, and the first injection is effected not at a suction stroke but before an expansion stroke of the primary explosion assumed cycle. This constitution reliably obtains an effect to improve startability through injection within a suction stroke, since fuel injection is practicable at a pre-timing including a suction stroke in spite of an increase in rotation during starting through division of an injection pulse.
