PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground structure, and its construction method, for arranging a jacking pipe in an arch shape in the ground as design, and effectively utilizing the inside of the jacking pipe as a work space. SOLUTION: An earth retaining work 2 in the shape of projecting upward in an arch shape, and an earth retaining work 3 in the shape of projecting downward in an arch shape, are respectively constructed between shield holes 1 and 1. Both the earth retaining work 2 and the earth retaining work 3 are formed in an inner diameter for allowing a person to enter; and are constructed by arranging the jacking pipe 6 formed in a circular arc shape of specific curvature in the vertical direction or the oblique direction, in a plurality of rows, by push-advancing in the ground, while mutually connecting a plurality. The jacking pipe 6 uses a steel pipe formed in a circular arc shape having a diameter of 800 mm or more, and having specific curvature, so that work can be performed by allowing a worker to enter.
