PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium cutting device which can automatically cut a plurality of images recorded in a transfer direction and a transfer orthogonal direction of a recording medium to each, and to provide a recording apparatus equipped with the recording medium cutting device. SOLUTION: Cutting means 210 and 230 for cutting a recording part of the transferred and recorded recording medium in the transfer direction and the transfer orthogonal direction carry out cutting in the transfer direction sequentially from the image recorded at a position close to the side of one lateral end of the recording medium among the plurality of images recorded in the transfer direction and the transfer orthogonal direction, and then carry out cutting in the transfer orthogonal direction sequentially from the image recorded at a position close to the side of a transfer leading end of the recording medium. Even when the plurality of images are recorded by free size and arrangement to the recording medium, each image can be cut and separated automatically.
