PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contamination caused by lubricating oil of a timing belt and leakage of lubricating oil. SOLUTION: This sewing machine is provided with a timing belt storage part 14 storing the timing belt 63 between a lower shaft 30 and an upper shaft 50; an arm part connecting mechanism storage part 15 storing a connecting mechanism between the upper shaft and a spreader drive shaft; a surface part mechanism storage part 16 storing a surface part mechanism transmitting a driving force from the upper shaft to a needle bar; a bed part connecting mechanism storage part 17 storing a connecting mechanism connecting the lower shaft to a looper drive shaft 65 and feed shafts 81 and 82; a feed mechanism storage part 18 storing a feed mechanism 110 driving a feed dog; an oil pan 20; and a pump 36 for the lubricating oil. The arm part connecting mechanism storage part and the bed part connecting mechanism storage part inside are lubricated with oil, the surface part mechanism storage part, the looper storage part and the feed mechanism storage part inside are lubricated with grease, and the timing belt storage part is non-lubricated.
