<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for allocating a packing box capable of allocating the packing box best-suited for use in shipping and recovering a substitute product. <P>SOLUTION: The packing box best-suited for use in shipping and recovering a substitute product is automatically allocated so that when the substitute product is lent, a product for maintenance which is to be withdrawn can be packed, and so that the packing box of the size capable of packing the substitute product is selected.
