<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid dissatisfaction among the players as caused by the mere omission of the frequency of deriving the results of the variable display left unfulfilled up to the prescribed upper limit from that involved in the specified game states. <P>SOLUTION: In the pinball machine, under the control to the special game states, the probability of commencing the individual special game states is decided according to the frequency of deriving the display results of a variable display device as conducted when each big win occurs to determine whether the special game state should be commenced or not while the probability of commencing the special game states is made the higher for the big wins which occur at the frequency of actually deriving the display results as is less than the upper limit thereto as the conditions for ending the special game state. Moreover, in the pinball machine, the probability of commencing the special game state involved is informed corresponding to the frequency of the actual derivation.
